So, aptly, there are two kids who take you through life in a troubled valley. Parzan Dastur (Sikandar) is a 14-year-old who is good at soccer in his school but is targeted by three bullies from his school because of his brilliance with the ball. Ayesha Kapur (Nasreen) another 14-year-old befriends Sikandar and the two become good friends. One day, Sikandar chances upon a gun by the wayside. He picks it up to teach a lesson to his bullies. But that one move, changes the course of his motives.

Though, by the end, you pretty much have things sorted out in your head, you wonder why director Piyush Jha failed to build his characters. There's no bite in the bait and no chill in the kill. Every scene is treated like any other and that's what spells disaster for the film. There is just one definite drone, scene after scene.

Madhavan and Sanjay Suri go about listlessly. Can't blame them really. It's only Parzan and Ayesha who get a scope to display their acting prowess. Arunoday Singh, who makes his debut, injects sufficient life in his portrayal as Zahgeer Quadir, a militant leader.

What Jha was trying to portray was the blooding in of the innocent children by the militants. What he ends up showing is a pale disaster.

LIFE PARTNER is about three friends, Govinda, Fardeen Khan and Tusshar Kapoor. Fardeen works with a multi-national and romances Genelia D'Souza, while Tusshar works for his father, whose business is importing Indian pickles to South Africa, where they live. Govinda hates the mention of marriage; Fardeen is head-over-heels in love with Genelia while Tusshar's father gets proposals for all his community members living in South Africa, except his son. Being an introvert, who is also a teetotaler, Tusshar longs for his day of bliss.

On his mother's insistence, they finally come to India to look out for a bride for Tusshar and he ends up marrying his father's best friend's daughter, Prachi Desai. All that he learnt while Fardeen was dating Genelia, comes into good use for Tusshar as he woos Prachi after their marriage. Fardeen and Genelia, too end up getting married which leave Govinda as the odd man out. To cut the long story short, differences creep up between the two couples and before you know it, Govinda is helping them separate legally. By the end of the movie, Govinda is getting married and the two are aghast!

Director Rumy Jaferi manages to capture your interests in spurts. There are interesting points he sends across on the issue of marriage but there is only so much you can say and stretching it for over two hours can be quite a task. Here is where he fails.

Fardeen Khan comes into his own towards the end, Tusshar seem to be on a high while Genelia takes her time to warm up to the subject. For me, it is Prachi Desai who is the best of the lot. The girl has presence and commands eyeballs when she is on the scene. With an endearing personality and impressive performance, this lass is sure to go places. Even though she comes onto the scene minutes before the interval, she walks in like a star and stays that way until the end.

Final verdict: It entertains in bits but is not that bad either.
